Jelena (Vasčanin) Đorđijevski
Jelena (Vasčanin) Đorđijevski was born in Vukovar and grew up in Vrdnik near Novi Sad, Serbia. She graduated from the College of Vocational Studies for Teacher Education in Novi Sad. During her studies, she gained experience by doing professional internships and volunteering in preschool institutions. She worked with children of younger and preschool age. After that, she enrolled in the Faculty of Education in Sombor, where she graduated and obtained the title of graduate teacher. Jelena has been living in London for ten years, and in 2017 she was a teacher at the Church School of St. Sava in London. She believes that Serbian language schools are necessary for children born abroad, not only to teach them the Serbian language but also to familiarise them with Serbian culture and customs. From the 2023/2024 school year, Jelena's work in the school has been supported by the Serbian Ministry of Education and she is teaching following the programme of 'dopunska nastava'.
