On Thursday, 9th November 2023, starting at 6:30 pm, the students of our school attended a Zoom event with HRH Princess Ljubica Karađorđević. The princess spoke about herself, her family, the Karađorđević royal family, Topola and Oplenac, and the Oplenac Children's Festival, and then she patiently answered many interesting questions that the pupils asked, which concerned her education, interests, travels, friends, pets etc. Teacher Slađana Stevanović brilliantly led the entire program, which ended with a quiz on knowledge of the Karađorđević dynasty. Over 100 children from Great Britain and Ireland participated in this wonderful gathering.

At the end of October and the beginning of November 2023, Biljana Novković Adžaip from the Center for Serbian Language Azbukum visited our school. On 29th October Biljana held a workshop for school teachers and members of the Education Board in the school premises, presenting a new book for the youngest age group (5-8 years old), which will be published in November 2023 and will soon be available to the pupils of our school. She also presented supporting materials in pdf format as well as videos on the AOS platform that our pupils can use. This visit is another in a series that confirms our school's commitment to using the best materials and methodologies in teaching the Serbian language and to cooperate with all institutions and initiatives that aim to promote the Serbian language and culture.

The 2023/24 school year starts on Sunday 24th September 2023.

10:00 – Holy Liturgy. We warmly invite all families to attend the service and receive a blessing for a prosperous school year.

11:30 - We will all meet in the church hall (89 Lancaster Rd, London W11 1QQ). This will be an opportunity to meet the teaching team, and find out about the programme and events.

12:15 - All families that would like to visit the classrooms will be welcomed. Those who would like to enrol their children will be able to do that in the classrooms.

Prof. Goran Mašanović has recently visited the Ministry of Education in Belgrade, where he met with Dr. Slavica Jašić, head of the Department for Preschool and Elementary Education, and her closest associates. The cooperation between the Ministry of Education and the Saint Sava Church School was discussed as well as the assistance that the Ministry could provide to our school. The mutual wish is that this cooperation benefits our pupils and teachers in London, Great Britain and Ireland and improves teaching. It was agreed that discussions would continue during the visit of the Belgrade team to London and visits of prof. Mašanović to Belgrade. 

We are pleased to announce that from September 2023, our teacher and member of the Board of Education of the Saint Sava Church School, Slađana Stevanović will teach Serbian language in Oxford and Birmingham, in the premises of our church. The online lessons will be free from the 2023/24 school year thanks to the financial help of the Republic of Serbia Ministry of Education. From September 2023, a new teacher will join our school. Jelena Đorđijevski has graduated from the College of Vocational Studies for Teacher Education in Novi Sad. After that, she enrolled in the Faculty of Education in Sombor, where she has graduated and obtained the title of graduate teacher. Jelena has been living in London for 9 years, and in 2016/2017 she was a teacher at the Church School of St. Sava in London.
